180226_オリンピックトーーーク（第14回レポ）_Olympic game (14th gardeN)

Today I'll tell you about gardeN on 26th of February, that was the 14th.
There were less people than usual..

At first, we did "Line Up" as a warming up!
Because we timed this time, we could do it more actively than before, like saying "I chose this!!". It took about 55 seconds every time. We want to be able to do it faster!!


Then we talked about PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games.

First of all, we shared which sport we watched with some reasons. For example, curling, snowboarding, skiing and figure skating and so on. Especially, junior high school students told us simply by using the past tense which they’d just learned at school.

After that, we shared which sport we want to try.

-I want to do ski jumping because a Japanese player named Ryoyu Kobayashi is really cool and I want to meet him♡
-I'd like to do snowboarding smartly!
-Figure skating is attractive for me because players can wear charming costume!

...something like that.
I could understand and empathize with their choices and reasons and I think everyone could spend nice time with English.


The next gardeN will be held on 5th of March. (Oh, It's already March..) at Yumoto Community Center. Why don't you join us??

今回はあるメンバーの方にブログを書いていただきました！どうぞお楽しみください！

それでは2月26日のガーデンの様子をお送りします♪あ、第14回でしたね。
今回はちょっとメンバーが少なめだったかな。

ウォーミングアップはラインナップ。
タイムも計りながら、皆で『私はこれ！』と積極的に声かけあいながらやりました。
・・・毎回５５秒前後と安定（？）のタイムでしたけど。

その後は、オリンピックの話題です。まずはオリンピックで何を見たかをシェアしました。カーリング、スノボ、スキー、フィギュアスケートなどなど・・・理由も入れながらシェアしました。中学生ズは、習いたての過去形も混ぜながら、分かりやすく発表してくれましたよ♪

お次はどんなスポーツに挑戦したいか？というのをシェア。
スキージャンプをしたい！だって小林陵侑がかっこいいからお近づきになりたい♡
スノボやりたい！かっこよく滑りたいんだもん。
フィギュアスケートが良いな。だって衣装が可愛いし！
などなど、聞いてると『分かる！』って思う理由で、楽しくシェアできました！

次回は3月5日！（もう3月...!!）

～感想～
☆This time, a native speaker facilitated gardeN, so my will to try to speak in English became bigger than usual. It was interesting that everyone enjoyed Olympic games in each way, totally different with mine.

☆今回は進行がALTの方だったので、なるべく英語で頑張ろうという気持ちが強くなった気がしました。オリンピック、それぞれの楽しみ方があったようで面白かったです！

★It was fun to talk about Olympic games with everyone and I enjoyed learning some new sports in English!

★平昌五輪をみんなで楽しく振り返れてよかったし、知らなかった競技も分かって楽しかったです。

180219_オーストラリア留学？！（第13回レポ）_Australia?!?!（about 13th gardeN）

No Japanese(今回は日本語なしでやってみます！)

I am sorry for late posting.

This time I will tell about 13th gardeN on 19th of Feb.

We have many kinds of members from elementary school children to adults in gardeN and some of them are now high school students.

The reason why I said this is that two high school students went to Australia to study English!

We envy them!!

So in the 13th gardeN, we did some activities about Australia with some envy for them, some cheer-up for them and a lot of joy. 

At first, we learned many words about Australia with pictures, like Koala, Dingo, Opera House, Ayers Rock, Diving, Football and so on.

Then, everyone thought what they want to do in Australia. Members tried to think with some words they learned.

(I think everyone could just guess how fun the stay in Australia is, otherwise two members were in Australia and enjoyed at the same time... I envy them.)

★After gardeN, on our way to home by car, my daughter and I said at the same time, "It was more enjoyable than usual!" For me, It was fun to talk about a lot of things like native Australian named Aborigine is said to eat big bugs and ants, the meaning of another name of Ayers Rock, "Uluru", we can climb Ayers Rock, we can see bears, Japanese serows, deers in nature in Nishiwaga instead of Kangaroos or Dingos in Australia and so on in a group I was at. My daughter said that she was fun because she tried to understand what she listened in English or to read or write some words. And she could understand a little bit more than before what group member's talked. In addition, To my surprise, I heard my two-years-old son tried to imitate the sounds of "Thank you" and "See you"!! I felt it was awesome to try to speak something by just hearing it.

★今日のサークル終わって、車に乗って出発してそうそう、親子揃って、 『今日は特にめっちゃ楽しかった～！』 とハモリました（笑） 私は、シェアするときの班で、発表がわりと早く終わったので、 大きな芋虫やアリを食べるっていう話や、アイヌとアボリジニの話（ウルルってなんでそういう言葉なんだろう、とか） エアーズロックに登れるんだよ、っていう話とか、 西和賀では自然にみられる動物と言ったら熊とかカモシカとか鹿だよね、 っていう話とか、色んな話を英語と日本語ごちゃまぜで話せて楽しかったです。 娘は聞いた英語を頑張って自分の中で訳してみたり、 単語を読んだり書いたりしてみるのが楽しかったそうです。 班の人の発表もわりとちゃんと聞き取れたようで、面白かったそうです＾＾ あとは、2歳の息子が『Thank you．』と、『See you.』をマネしてしゃべってたのにも驚きました＾＾ 聴いたまんましゃべってみる吸収力すごいなぁと思いました。

☆I have little confidence with speaking English, but I was glad that I could try English conversation with ALT. I hadn't had much interest in Australia but thank to today's theme, I could learn some of Australia. It was fun! 

☆ダメダメ英語でしたが、ALTの方と頑張って会話できて嬉しかったです。もともとオーストラリアにはあまり興味がありませんでしたが、今回のテーマだったことによっていろんなことを知ることができて良かったです。

180212_私の雪あかり（第12回レポ）_My snow lantern fes (about 12th gardeN)

Hello everyone!
This blog is about 12th gardeN on 12th of February.

It was sad but because of bad weather, many members couldn't come to Yumoto.


We started gardeN with warming up as usual but a different point was that this time a member who goes to high school took a leadership of warming up.
He planned "English Shiritori" and we did it.
The theme was Nishiwaga and it was a little bit difficult but we could enjoy the warming up.


After that we talked about "Yukiakari" (snow lantern) which was held on the day before gardeN.

There were interesting stories as much as members.

A member
who joined skiing with torches
who unluckily had a lot of trouble in one day
who played with her friend from Gunma
who took part in many parts of Yukiakari
who happily got 25 rice cakes

The day of Yukiakari is said that the most energetic day of a year in Nishiwaga.
I felt that every story of each person makes the day..


The next gardeN will be held on 19th at Yumoto community center:)

毎度毎度！
今回は2月12日の第12回の模様をお届け！（偶然の一致！！）

吹雪のせいで参加できなかったメンバーが多かったですが、いつも通り英語で話すことへのチャレンジを楽しみました！


今回もいつも通りウォーミングアップからスタート！
今回は初の試みで、メンバーのひとりである高校生がウォーミングアップを担当しました！

西和賀をお題にした英語しりとりをやって盛り上がりました。テーマが決められていると難しい難しい。。企画有難う！


その後は、先日行われたビッグイベント「雪あかり」を題材に英語で話す時間に。

人の数だけ物語あり。

松明スキーに参加した人
沢山のトラブルに遭遇して疲れ果てた人
群馬からはるばる来た友達とめいいっぱい遊んだ人
地区や学校などいろんな雪あかりに参加した人
餅まきで紅餅を25個も拾った人

などなど。

「雪あかりの日は西和賀が一番あかるくなる日」なんて聞いたことがありますが、100人100通りの物語が「雪あかり」を作っているんだなーとしみじみ思いました。


さてさて次回のgardeNは19日月曜日です！
次はどんなテーマにしようかな？！

☆English Shiritori about Nishiwaga was interesting and I enjoyed talking about my Yukiakari in English.

☆西和賀英語しりとりが面白かったし、雪あかりのことを英語で話せて嬉しかった。

★This time we talked about "my Yukiakari". Everyone seemed to enjoy making or watching Yukiakari. We can always exchange various opinions and talk about Nishiwaga. I want to talk with more people at gardeN.

★今回は雪あかりをテーマに話しました。他の人のを聞いていると皆、作ったり見たりして雪あかりを楽しんでいるようでした。gardeNではいつもいろんな意見を交わしたり、西和賀について話し合ったりできています。できるならばもっといろんな人とgardeNで話してみたいです。

180206_雪と私。（第11回レポ）_Snow and Me (11th gardeN)

Hello,everyone!
I will share the 11th gardeN with you on this post!

We did two activities as warming up
・Turn around
・Make a Circle

Almost all got used to "Turn around" and they seemed less confused than before.
I have to change how to do it.. make it more difficult.


After those warming up, we did "Tell us your story with snow!"

Needless to say, but here Nishiwaga is one of the most famous areas for snow in Japan. So I believed they must have interesting stories of their own with snow and wanted to listen to. That's why I chose this theme.

It was totally broken by snow removal car.. /数時間後、除雪車の餌食に（笑）

"When I was an elementary school student, I made a snowgirl for my friend as his young sister because he had only brother."
"A few years ago, I fell from the top of a roof when I removed snow but snow on the ground was really soft, so I didn't injure myself."
"I was going to make a snow statue like a dog with my friend but it looked strange, so finally we made a snow statue like a turtle."
"It was fun for me to jump during skiing."
"For me, it was a picnic on a grassland covered with snow. It was good to eat hot noodle there. I'd like to continue this event as much as I can."

As I expected, there were lots of interesting stories.


Of course the stories were interesting but more than this, I got really happy because they tried hard to look up English phrases they used before from previous handouts by themselves. The stance that they positively try to get something by themselves. It is exactly the stance which we gardeN think important.


Next Monday is a holiday but members said "I want to come next week!", so we will hold gardeN with our pleasure! 12th of February, 1830-2000, at Yumoto community center! Why don't you join us??

2月5日の第11回をお届け！


・Turn around
・Make a Circle (Line upの円verですっ！)

をウォーミングアップにやりました！
皆、Turn around にはだいぶ慣れてきて、複雑になっても徐々に困惑しなくなってきててびっくり。またやり方変えないとですね！！＾＾


その後、「雪にまつわるエピソードを教えて！」をメインの活動としてやりました。

なんたってココ西和賀は国指定の特別豪雪地帯。雪が半端ない。ココで暮らす人々はきっと雪にまつわるエピソードを持っているに違いない！ということでこのテーマにしました。

「小学生の時に男兄弟しかいない友達のために雪だるまの妹を作ってあげた！」
「雪下ろししてて屋根から落っこちたけど、地面の雪がふかふかでケガしなかった。」
「犬の雪像を造ろうとしたんだけど形が変になったから、亀にした！」
「スキー教室でジャンプ出来て楽しかった！」
「大雪原で雪上ピクニック。寒いとこでラーメン食べたり！これからもできる限り続けたいな。」

などなど案の定いろんなエピソードが。

内容もさることながら、
英語にする過程で「あ、この表現前にやったな！」って前のプリントを必死に見ている姿も印象的でした。まさに自分から何かを得ようとする姿。gardeNが大切にしたい姿です。


来週は祝日ですが、メンバーに訊いたら「やりたい！」とのことだったのでバリバリ開催します＾＾2月12日（月）1830-2000、湯本公民館2階です！ぜひ。

☆The theme was interesting for me. And I was glad because I got able to express my feeling in English more fluently than before!

☆今回のお題は楽しかったです。言いたい事をスラスラ書けるようになってきて嬉しい！

★It was fun because I could feel that my speaking skill has gradually improved!

★前より少し話せるようになってきたので、楽しくなってきた！

☆It was nice for me because this time I used some past tense words that I've never learned at school.

☆中学校でまだ習っていない過去形の単語を使って表現をすることができたのが良かったです。

180129_記念すべき第10回！_Happy 10th anniversary!!

Hello everyone!

I'm gonna announce you that gardeN finally has reached 10th!!
I'd like to say big thank you to all who are interested in gardeN and help us hold gardeN!!

This time, please let me tell about the memorial gardeN:)

We did two warming up activity named "Turn around" and "Line up".
Actually it wasn't new to them but they enjoyed and warmed themselves up. It's really cold outside here in Nishiwaga but after warming up, we always don't feel cold.


After that, at the part of main activity, we were into two teams, Spade and Club.


Members of Spade talked about their happiness of this week with all English.

My happiness was...
"being able to go outside like shopping, lunch and so on because I'd been sick for about two weeks and couldn't go outside."

"acting on the Ginga Hall as a member of the drama club of this town. I played a funny student who are possessed by the universe."

"getting two more bonus gyoza from the master of a restaurant."

The goal of this activity was not only sharing their happiness but also asking a question to a speaker, so they also tried to ask and answer each other.


Otherwise, members of Club introduced their favorite person.

"my old sister because she is very kind and she studies very hard to make her dream come true. She will become a nurse on next April!"

"my friend because she is friendly. We are best friend."

"Naho Maita. She is a comic artist who writes 「12歳」. I have seven comics of her. I like her."

"Takumi Kitamura who acts on TV drama named「隣の家族は青く見える」. He is cool and I want to meet him."

They have a lot of favorite people of their own, so I want to do it again:)

皆様にお知らせがございます。
この度gardeNは第10回を迎えることができました！ひとえに関心を持ってくださっている皆様、またこの場を作るために奮闘してくださっている方々のおかげです。いつもありがとうございます！

さてさて今回はそんな記念すべき第10回の模様をお届けします。

まずは2つのウォーミングアップから。「方向転換」と「ラインナップ」をやりました。既に何回かやってるものなのですが、皆初めてのように白熱。文字通り体が熱くなりました。こんなに外は寒いのがウソかのように。


その後メインアクティビティは2手に分かれて行うことに。

スペードチームはオールイングリッシュでシェアハピをしました！1週間以内にあったハピネスを話す。そしてお互いに質問をしあう。

例えば、、
「ずっとおたふくで外に出られなかったから、ひっさびさに外出て買い物とかできたのが本当に嬉しかった！」
「銀河ホール演劇部の一員として演劇に出演した。宇宙に憑りつかれている生徒の役をやりました！」
「こないだ中華料理屋で餃子頼んだら2個おまけしてもらった（笑）」
などなど。。

やはり話す内容がハピネスなだけあって、終始笑いが絶えないスペードチームでした。


一方クラブチームは自分の好きな人を伝える活動をしました。

「姉かな。優しいし、夢に向かって一生懸命努力してる。この4月には晴れて看護師さんになる予定です！」
「友達！とてもフレンドリーで優しい。親友です！」
「『12歳』という漫画を描いているまいた菜穂さん。7巻持ってるよ！すごく好き。」
「『隣の家族は青く見える』に出ている俳優の北村匠海です！かっこいい。会いたいなー。」

それぞれの思いがあふれる発表。徐々に英語で言える内容も多くなってきて嬉しい限りです！まだまだ発表し足りなさそうだったのでもう一回やろうかな。

☆Sharing happiness made me feel happier👍 And I envied some happy happenings of others 😂 It was completely difficult to explain my happiness …

☆シェアハピはとても楽しかったです！そして他の方の嬉しい出来事も羨ましいなと思いました。いやー、自分の嬉しい出来事を話すのは難しかった。。

★I enjoyed "my favorite person" with English and Japanese. I introduced my old sister. Others told about actor, singer, voice actor, teacher and family. There were more members than before and it was lively gardeN.

★私はEnglishと日本語が混ざったチームでした！自分の好きな人を紹介するという楽しい内容で、私は姉のことを紹介しました。芸能人や声優、家族などいろいろな人がでてきて、とても楽しかったです!人数がいつもよりも多くて、賑やかなgardeNでした😊

☆It has been a while to join gardeN and was surprised with others' expressions like lively and relaxed. They seem to get used to be here and have confidence. No matter who spoke or no matter what was spoken, everyone perfectly tried to pay attention to a speaker, it is really nice for me!

☆久しぶりに来てみたら、なんだか参加者の雰囲気が明るくてリラックスしているように感じました。続けている事で自信がついたり、慣れてきたのかなぁ？誰がどんな発表をしてもみんなでしっかり聞く雰囲気がとても良いなぁと思います(´∇｀)

★The activity, "Turn around" was interesting but I have no confidence about direction lol In main activity, I could enjoy to share my favorite person. I like the way of junior high school students. They are always active and positive to communicate in English. They don't seem to be afraid of mistakes. In addition, they tried hard to listen to others. I think a positive atmosphere of gardeN lets them to enjoy English. Really good.

★turn around面白かったデス！でも、方角は本当に怪しかった～ｗ自分の大好きな人のことをシェアできて楽しかったです。中学生の子たちの、積極的で前向きな姿勢が素敵だなぁと思いました＾＾間違っても大丈夫！な雰囲気が良いんですね～＾＾他の人の発言の時も、一生懸命に聞き取ろうとする姿勢が素敵でした♪見習わなきゃ～。

☆It was difficult to give instructions in the warming up activity, "Turn around". I could get "back" and "left" but I couldn't possibly memorize and pronounce "right", so I couldn't say "right". It was sad. My mother gave me a sheet about directions, so I will practice with it to memorize all!

☆自分で指示を出すのは難しかったです（turn around)。backとleftは覚えられたけど（バックは普段使う言葉だし、レフトは左利きなので）rightがどうしても覚えられない＆発音がよくわからなくて指示出せなくて残念でした。方角の方も、お母さんに紙に書いてもらったので覚えようと思います。

180122_えんすーしあすてぃっく？！？！（第9回gardeNレポ）_enthusiastic??(9thgardeN)

Japanese below（今回も挑戦じゃ！）

Hello! This time I'll tell about the 9th gardeN on 22th of January.
Because of the prevalence of mumps, There were less members than usual, but we had a good time.


The warming-up activity of 9th gardeN was "turn around".
We used "North, South, East and West" and "Front, Back, Left and Right".

directions/この両方を混ぜるんです！

It's simple because all they have to do is turning their body to the direction which I say.

For example, If I say "East", they turn to east, "South", turn to south.
If I say "Right", they turn right, "Front", stay their body.

Just simple, but once I mixed both, It became much more difficult than before. They were really confused. lol


After that, we did "What are you enthusiastic about??".

The word, "enthusiastic" is a litte bit long so they felt hard to pronounce it.
However they could enjoy thinking what they are enthusiastic about.


Nowadays, The prevalence of diseases has been increased, so please greatly take care of yourself.

どもども！続いて今回は1月22日の第9回をお届け！
おたふくの流行などでメンバーが少なかったですが、今回も楽しくやりました！


ウォームアップは「方向転換」！
「東西南北」という方角と「前後左右」という方向。

指示通りに体の方向を変えるというシンプルなゲームです。
例えば、「東」と言われたら東を向き、「南」と言われたら南を向く。
例えば、「右」と言われたら単純に右向け右をし、「前」と言われたらそのまま前を向き続ける。
言葉だとこんな感じ。

それ自体はすごく簡単なのですが、これがごちゃまぜになると一転、あら難しい。
みんなだいぶ苦戦していました（笑）

でも手軽で楽しくウォームアップとしては意外といいかも？！


その後は「ハマってるものは何？」という活動をしました！

はまるって英語ではenthusiasticっていうんです。まず発音に苦戦。（笑）
でも、何ハマってるかな？なんでハマってるんかな？って考えるのが楽しかったみたいです。

インフルやおたふくが猛威を振るっています。。
皆さん！体調にはくれぐれも気を付けてくださいね！では＾＾


～感想/Comments～
★レベルが上がった〜!!  難しかった！最初のゲームが楽しかったのでまたやりたいです！

★The level of activity became higher than before! And.. The first activity was really funny for me, so I want to do it again.

☆熱中している事を色々英語で考えたのが楽しかったです！

☆It was fun for me to think in English what I am enthusiastic about!

★私はなかなか復習出来てないので、もっと普段から英語を意識して生活出来たらと思いました。最初のゲームは、家でも遊びでやってみたいと思います。

★I can't review what I learned so I want to do during daily life. The first activity of today was fun so I'd like to do it at home!

180115_冬休み何してたー？？（第8回レポ）_about Winter Break_8thgardeN

I'm sorry for late post.
It's about the 8th gardeN on 15th of January.

It was the first gardeN of 2018.
The warming-up activity was "Try to be a zodiac animal!"

To my surprise, everyone knew names of zodiac animals. And it was really interesting because of their unique way to imitate animals.

Zodiac animals/今年は戌年！！

After that, we did a main activity in which they tried to share memories of their winter break.
Each member thought and talked the happiest, the saddest or the most surprising memories of their own in English.

For Example
"My happiest memory was taking part in a new year party of firemen. It was a drinking party and I really enjoyed it. However I drunk too much at the party and  got a hangover the next day. It was my saddest memory of this winter break."

It was too "Nishiwagan" lol

１週間遅れで申し訳ありませんっ、
1月15日の第8回の模様です！


2018年一発目のgardeN。
まずは、「干支アニマルになろう！」ってのをウォーミングアップとしてやりました！

みんな動物の名前知ってる知ってる。びっくり！
そして、それ以上にそれぞれの個性的な動物の真似が面白かったです。

辰とか鶏とか猪とか面白かったですねー（笑）


その後メインは、「冬休みのこと教えて！」という活動をしました！
その名の通り、自分の冬休みについて伝える活動です！

それぞれが一番嬉しかったことや悲しかったこと、驚いたことなどを英語で考えてシェアしました！

例えば、
「一番嬉しかったのは、消防団の出初式。飲み会がホント楽しかった。けど、飲みすぎて翌日は二日酔いに。それが一番悲しい思い出です（笑）」

という、すごく西和賀チックな思い出を話してくれた方もいました（笑）

～感想/Comments～
★子供達を他の英会話スクールに通わせてましたが、もっと英語に触れ合わせたいと考えてました。毎回楽しそうなので、どんなものかと参加してみましたが、最初から最後まで楽しそうに参加していたし、内容も実践的で発表も慣れてきたのか恥ずかしがらずに出来ていたので驚きました。出来る限り通わせたいです。

★I let my children go to other English conversation school, but I'd like them to have more chance to communicate in English. They always look fun so I has been interested and decided to join. Then they actually enjoyed and I was surprised my children didn't look too much nervous with their presentation. I will let them join gardeN as much as we can.

☆久しぶりに英語に触れて楽しかったです。久しぶりすぎて自分の語彙力のなさにびっくりしましたが。もう少し喋れるようになりたいです！

☆It was my first time for a long time to communicate in English. I was surprised with myself because I noticed my few vocabulary. I'd like to talk more fluently!

171225_猛吹雪のなか（第7回レポート）_dangerous blizzard (gardeN#7)

Merry Christmas！（It's too late but we did gardeN on 25th, let me say it）
0n Christmas day, Santa Claus brought us a big surprising present, dangerous blizzard... because of this terrible weather, it was so difficult to drive. I wanna say big Thank you to members who came.

Now I will write down about the 7th gardeN.

Also this time, we began gardeN with warming up activity named "Line up".
The initial letter of chocolate cake and that of cheese cake are both "Ch", so it was a little bit confused. lol

After this, we did main activity with all together.
it was a simple one whose title is "What do you want to do with money?" 

"If you have a million yen, what do you want to do?"
"If you get a hundred yen, what would you like to do? "

We thought about this and shared our idea.

"I want to have three cats, a Persian cat, a tortoiseshell cat and a black one."

"I want to go to live shows of popular singers again and again!"
"Because there is my favorite player in the team, I want to go to watch games of Rakuten and wanna eat a lot of stadium gourmet foods."

Anyway, the 7th gardeN was the last one of 2017. To my surprise, the next Monday is in 2018!!! I'd like to say "Of course we'll hold on the first day of the next year." but yes, please enjoy spending your time with your family or friends.
I am now planing to start from 8th of January.


This year, a lot of people came to gardeN and I think the more we did, the better we could make "garden". I am the man who most enjoyed gardeN! I appreciate a lot. Let's enjoy more in 2018!!!

メリークリスマス！サンタさんは西和賀に強烈な猛吹雪を持ってきてくれました。とんでもなく運転が怖かった。。。ほんとに来てくれた人良く来てくれたなって感じです。。

そんな25日の第7回gardeNの模様をお届けします＾＾

今回もラインナップ（名前変更しました笑。提案ありがとうございますっ！）をウォームアップでやりました。両方「ch」から始まるチョコレートケーキとチーズケーキの並び順が難しかったですね（笑）

その後はグループを分けず全員でメインアクティビティ。
「そのお金で何する？！」ってのをやりました。中身はシンプル。

「もし100万円持ってたら？」「もし100円持ってたら？」
何をしたいかみんなで考えてアイディアを共有しました。

「ひとり女子旅で全都道府県制覇したい！」

こんな感じのが出ました！それぞれの考えてることが浮き彫りになって面白いです＾＾



さてさて、今年ももうおしまい。次の月曜日はもう2018年です。わお。
元旦もやります！といいたいところですが、元旦はさすがにそれぞれのご家庭で楽しんでいただいて（笑）、翌週からやろうかなーなんて考えてます。

たくさんの方が来てくれてgardeNは回を重ねるごとにより良い「庭」になっていったと思います！僕が一番楽しんでましたね。ありがたき。2018年もよろしくお願いいたします！

～感想/Comments～

☆分からないなりに集中して聞き取ろうとしたり、自分の知ってる表現を全力で使ったりっていうこの時間がとても楽しかったです。学生さんズも増えて、それぞれが自分のレベルで考えたり表現したりっていうのが面白かったです。あとは・・・意外にアルファベット順がぱっと出てこない自分に焦りました（笑）

☆I enjoyed listening to English with my concentration and using words and phrases as much as I could. The number of students has increased and it was interesting they tried to think and express their feeling with their own best. And,,, I got upset because the alphabet wasn't come up with soon lol

★まだまだ自信がなくて、I likeとかっていう知っている表現を使うのもまだためらっちゃうんだけど、サンタさんにもらった辞書を使えるようになってきたので、言葉を覚えながら、知ってる表現のところだけでも英語を使えるように挑戦したいです。

★I want to speak more with confidence but I still hesitate to talk in English. However I got an electronic dictionary as Xmas present and get used to using it, so I'd like to try to memorize phrases and use English as much as I can.

☆100円あったら…のお題では、普段も良くあるシチュエーションだったので、日本語と同じように考えることが出来て楽しく会話できました。来年はもっと聞き取れるようになりたいです！

☆The topic about 100 yen is very daily topic, so it was easy to think and was so fun. I'd like to be able to improve my listening skill in 2018!

★100万円あったら…は、大好きな猫を飼う事を考えたり、英語で発表出来たのが嬉しかったです。楽しくていつもあっという間に終わってしまいます！

★The activity about a million yen was interesting for me because I could think about cats I love the best of all animals and told what I wanted to say in English. Time always flies fast in gardeN.

171218_厳しいサンタさん（第6回レポート）_Strict Santa Claus (about 6th gardeN)

This time, please let me tell what we did in 6th gardeN!

〈Done〉
・"Line up by an initial" (warming up section)
・"Which one??" (team Vanilla)
・"What do you want for Christmas??" (team Cocoa)

"Line up" is a little bit difficult to be explained, so please watch this figure lol
We did it with some topics like prefecture, drink, food, song..

Line up!!/こんな感じです笑

After warming up, we divided into two teams (Vanilla&Cocoa) as usual and did each activity.

Members of Vanilla did "Which one??" with all English.

For example,
do you prefer to, "kinoko no yama" or "takenoko no sato"
can you bear, too hot or too cold
do you take it important, love or money

They chose one and tried to say some reasons. It's more difficult to decide and tell reasons than we think, right?? Six members including JHS and HS students bravely tried to tell them in all English.

How about another team named "Cocoa"??

They did an activity named "What do you want for Christmas??"
But Santa was a little bit strict this time and he said, "If you don't have reasons, I will not bring a present for you." So they had to think what and WHY.

"I want a new fashionable watch with gold and white color because my watch was broken.."
"I want a Switch from Nintendo because I think my father will get to love it and I can spend time with my father."
"I want a hoodie of Fischer's because it looks warm and comfortable to use on holiday."
"I want a new album of Taylor Swift because I love her and want to listen to her songs as soon as possible."
"I want to have a galah in my house because it looks so pretty."
"I want m... money...because I want to buy some consumer electronics for my new house."
"I'd like to get a shoulder-type wallet because my wallet is old and wanna use one which is easier to use. I don't desire any brands but I want to get a new one. "


Next gardeN will be surprisingly held on Christmas! It will be the last one of 2017. On 25th of December, we will strongly wait for you at Yumoto community center!!!

白熱の第6回の模様をお届け！今回はこんな感じでやりました！＾＾

〈やったこと〉
・アルファベット整列！（全体ウォーミングアップ）
・どっち？（バニラチーム）
・クリスマスに何欲しい？（ココアチーム）

ウォーミングアップのアルファベット整列（もっといい名前ないかな笑）は言葉で説明するのが難しいので図で（笑）お題を変えながらいろんなラインを作りました！

その後はいつも通り2チーム（バニラ/ココア）に分かれ、それぞれで活動。


バニラチームはチョーシンプルな「どっちを選ぶ？」ってのをオールイングリッシュでやりました。

「きのこの山」と「たけのこの里」なら？
熱すぎるのと寒すぎるのならどっちが耐えられる？
愛と金ならどっちが大事？

などなどのお題に対し、どちらかの立場を取り理由を述べる。どちらか決め切ったり理由をちゃんと言ったりするのって意外と難しいんですよね。。中高生を交えた6人が果敢にもオールイングリッシュでチャレンジしました!!

一方そのころココアチームは？？

クリスマスが間近だということで、「クリスマスに何欲しい？」ってのをやりました！ただし、今回のサンタさんはちょっと厳しめのサンタさん。Meを納得させる理由がないとだめー！ということで、挑戦した皆さんにはほしいものとその理由をセットで考えてもらいました。

「時計が壊れちゃって。金色と白でできたお洒落な時計が欲しいです！」
「お父さんもハマると思うから任天堂スイッチが欲しいっ！」
「休日に着やすくてあったかいFischer'sのパーカーがほしい！」
「テイラーが好きで一刻も早く新曲を聞きたいから11月に出たアルバムがほしい！」
「かわいいからモモイロインコ飼いたいっ！」
「か、、金。引越しに伴って家電が欲しいから、か、金。。。」
「財布が古くて、ブランドとかじゃなくていいから肩掛けの使いやすい財布が欲しいです。」

などが挙がりました＾＾


さてさて、次回はなんとクリスマス当日！でも、、、やります！！2017年ラストォォ！
12月25日（月）、湯本公民館で首を長くして待っています!!

★久々に生の英語に触れ興奮しました。次回が楽しみです！

★I was so excited because it was long time no see to listen to and speak in  English. I'm looking forward to next one!

☆初めてだったけど、みんなで話しやすいように輪っかになったり、バニラとココアで分けてその人のレベルに応じて学習できるところがいいと思いました！来週も行っていろんな人と交流できたらいいなと思いました！

☆It was my first time to join gardeN and I could find out some good points like we made a circle to let us communicate easier or we could learn English suited to our level. I'd like to join next week and wanna communicate with kinds of people!

★中学校で習った単語などを使うことが出来ました！サンタさんから貰うプレゼントはお金が１番ですね笑

★I could use some words which I learned in Junior High. I think the best present I get from Santa Claus is money lol.

171211_桃太郎の人生相談！？（第5回レポ）_Counselling Momotaro?!?!（About 5th "gardeN"）

Hello! We could hold the memorial 5th "gardeN" on 11th of December.
Let me tell about the 5th one!

First of all we did a warming-up activity called "Try to be an animal".
And after that,,,


"I was named "Momotaro" by an old couple. But I don't like to be said, "Hey! Momochan~~!!" by my friends and I wish my name were a typical boy's name like "Genki"..."

Momotaro suddenly came to the "gardeN" and said his matter. So we counseled him in English. It was too difficult...




Liar.


Yes, I'm a liar. I'm sorry but I wanna get out of a mannerism in how to start this blog, so I did.
Anyway, this time we separated to two groups (Igloo&Snowman)after a warming-up session.

Members of Igloo group did "counselling teenagers" in all English while members of Snowman group did "If you were Momotaro..." in English and a little Japanese.

In Igloo group,
"I'm falling love with a pretty girl but I've never have a date. Please tell me how."
"I wanna lose my weight but I'm obsessed with eating snacks."

Members listened to these matter and considered how to help them.

Counselling/ティーンのお悩み解決中

In Snowman group's theme was "You are Momotaro you have to go to defeat devils but you can take only one animal. Which kind of animal do you take?"

"I will choose a whale! he can blow water from his back!"
"I want to take a horse. Even if I can't defeat devils, I can run away with a lot of treasures. "
"I want to go with a lion! He can tickle devils with his a bushy tail."
"I wanna select a snake. He has a venom in his body and he can hide himself in narrow space."
"I will go with a gorilla. Because of his black body, he can hide himself in dark place and he is big and strong. "
"I think a tiger is the best partner for me. he is good at chasing because he runs very fast."

Like these. Most of adults chose a horse (Maybe they thought this theme too much realistically lol)

The number of members almost reached to 20, so many, and same as it, there were a lot of unique ideas and conversation:)

どーも！ついにキリの良い5回を迎えちゃったおめでたいgardeNからDaikiです！

今回は、ウォームアップアクティビティとして「なりきりっ！動物！」をやったあと、、、


「俺さ、”桃太郎”って命名されたじゃん？けどさ、「おいー桃ちゃんー！」とか友達に呼ばれんの嫌でさ、普通に”元気”とかが良かったんだよね。」という桃太郎の突然の告白があり、みんなで桃太郎のお悩み相談に乗りました。英語で。難しかったー。




うそです。




ごめんなさい。うそです。ブログの書き始めがマンネリ化していたのでふざけました。
ということで、仕切り直し。ウォームアップのあとは2グループに分かれて活動しました。

かまくらグループは、10代のお悩み相談を英語で。
雪だるまグループは、もしあなたが桃太郎だったら？！を英日交えながらやりました。

かまくらグループでは、
「好きな子できた。けど今までデートしたことなくって。どーすりゃいいの？」
「ダイエット成功させたいんだけど、食べるのやめられないんだよねー。」

などの割とリアルな悩みを受けて、真剣に回答を考えてみました。


雪だるまグループでは、
「あなたが桃太郎。けど、鬼退治には1種類の動物しか連れていけません。さてどの動物を連れていこっか？！」ってのをやりました。

「くじら！潮吹きで倒せそう！」
「馬だね。もし倒せなくても背中に宝どっさりのせて逃げれそう！」
「ライオン！しっぽでこちょくれそう！」
「蛇かな。毒で弱らせられるし、狭いところに隠れられそう。」
「ゴリラ！暗いとこで目立たなそうだし、でかくて強い！」
「トラ！足速いから追いかけるの得意そう！」

などが出ました＾＾大人が「馬」でかぶったりと面白かったです（笑）


場の人数がほぼ20名とめちゃくちゃカオスな会でしたが、人数同様盛りだくさんな第5回でした！次回は12/18（月）1830-2000です！お楽しみにー！＾＾

☆初めて英語サークルに出て、難しい単語を楽しく知ることが出来たので次も行きたいと思いました！

☆It was my first time to join "gardeN". I could enjoy learning some difficult words, so I want to take part in next one!

★英会話に興味があったが、なかなか機会がなくて…今回たまたまgardeNのチラシを見かけて思い切って娘と一緒に参加させて頂きました。年齢層も上から下まで幅広くちょっとビックリしました。久々に耳にする英会話にだいぶ理解に苦しみ、？マークの連続でしたが徐々に昔を思い出し理解できる単語が出てきて楽しくなってきました。これからも是非参加していきたいです。

★Actually I have an interest in conversation in English but there had been no chance.. This time I unexpectedly found a flyer of the "gardeN" and I bravely decided to join with my daughter. It was a little bit surprised for me that there were many kinds of people from different age. Because it was my first time in long time to hear English, I couldn't understand enough at first but I could gradually enjoy listening and speaking as time past. I wanna join again!

☆桃太郎だったら・・・っていう妄想がまず楽しかったデス。defeatとかswallowっていう、今まで使ったことがない単語を使うのも新鮮でした。今までよりも自分がしゃべったことがなんとなく伝わってる感があったのが嬉しかったです。あと、今までは調べても分からなくて結局日本語ばっかりでしゃべってたので、インチキでもなるべく英語を使ってみようとチャレンジできたのは良かったと思います。

☆It was fun to imagine "If I were Momotaro". I've never known some verbs like "defeat" or "swallow", so it was new to use these verbs. I was glad that I could feel what I said in English could pass around in snowman group. And I could try to tell what I wanna say in English though I'd used much Japanese before.

★最初のウォーミングアップで、前回固まってしまっていた弟が、最後猿の真似をしたのが面白かった。あと、今回桃太郎でしたけど、『シンデレラのかぼちゃの馬車を別の野菜でやるとしたら何にするか』みたいに、他のバージョンでもやってみたいと思いました＾＾
★It was funny my young brother tried to be a monkey in the warming-up session in spite of his having felt shy in the previous "gardeN". This time we became "Momotaro" but I want to do another version like "If you can change a pumpkin carriage (from Cinderella) to another vegetable which vegetable do you choose?":)

171204_どの祭出てみたい?!（第4回レポ）_Which festival do you wanna join??（about 4th "gardeN"）

On this post, I am going to share about the 4th "gardeN" held on 4th of December. We had more than 10 members including newcomers and spent a nice time!


This time, after self-introduction, we started "gardeN" with watching a movie.
The movie is..
a promotion video of "POCKETALK" which is a product from SOURCENEXT.INC.

POCKETALK looks very cute but it can translate 63 languages with only super easy operation, just one tap! It can translate not only one sentence but also 3~4 continuous sentences so perhaps with this, we won't feel difficulty in normal conversation. Moreover it isn't so expensive...

Recently we often hear "the era of Artificial Intelligence and Robot", the movement has surely reached to languages.
On this era, What is the meaning to learn English? Why do we study English?
Because I want our members to take a think such a thing, I showed the promotion video. What do you think??

Next I wanna share a main activity of 4th "gardeN".

The title of it is "Which festival do you wanna join??" in which we choose one festival from 9 festivals around the world and share it with some reasons.

Thinking time/え、どの祭がイイかな？！

"I want to paint as many tomatoes as I can and wanna get very beautiful face!!"
"I want to shoot at 〇〇 with a water gun with my best!!"
"I want to roll a lot by chasing a cheese!!"
"I like a high place so I wanna join Flying Indian!!"

There were such many unique reasons!
When I searched festivals around the world on the Internet for this activity, I found out there were so many festivals in which people can enjoy becoming dirty or throw something at others.. Lol In Japan such festivals has been popular and of course in Nishiwaga, there is a super big event in which people throw snowballs at enemies with all their powers..
Is there any reason why do people become enthusiastic for these festivals??


Next "gardeN" will be held on 11th of December. I am now preparing what we do in the next one.

12/4の第4回の模様をお届けします！

今回も10名を超える皆さんに集まっていただき活動をしました。


今回は、自己紹介をしたあとにある動画を見るところからスタート。
何の動画かというと、（株）ソースネクストが発売する「ポケトーク」という製品のPVです。（ポケトーク詳細はこちら）

可愛い見た目をしながらワンタップで世界63言語を通訳してくれるすげーやつです。
ある程度長い文章にも対応しており会話する分には困らなそうな気がしてくるそんな製品。しかもそんなに高くないし。

耳タコのようにAI・ロボット時代なんていう言葉を聞きますが、語学にも確実にその波は来ています。そんな時代に人間が英語を学ぶ意味とは何なのでしょうか？！そんなことを皆で考えてみたく動画を視聴しました。皆さんはどう考えますか？！



さてさて、いつもとは違う調子で始まった今回のgardeN。メインディッシュは、「Youはどの祭に参加したいのよ？！」でした。

世界各国の9つの祭からひとつ行きたい祭を選んで理由も含めて説明する。

「トマトを顔に塗りたぐって超絶美顔になりたい！」
「○○めがけて思いっきり水鉄砲撃ちたい！」
「チーズ追っかけていっぱい転んでみたい！」
「高いところが好きだからフライングインディアンに参加してみたい！」

などなどユニークな理由で盛り上がりました。
世界の祭を調べていたら、汚れるのを楽しむやつとか何かしら投げつけるやつとかがめちゃくちゃ多かったです。日本でも最近流行ってるし、もちろん西和賀にも雪玉を投げるちょービッグイベントがありますしね。。何か理由はあるのでしょうか笑笑


次回は12/11（月）！ 今度は何をやろうか絶賛迷い中ですっ！

☆何を喋ってるのか細かいところまでは分からないけれど、単語が聞き取れるようになってきたので、単語から何を言ってるのかなんとなく想像できるようになったのが嬉しかったです。まだ自信が全然ないから、間違ったらどうしようって思っちゃうけど、ちょっとずつ間違っても良いから喋ってみれるようになれるといいなぁ＾＾

☆I couldn't understand what members said in detail but could understand some words. I felt happy because I could vaguely guess what they told from some words. Still I don't have a confidence to talk in English and I feel afraid of speaking but I hope I can talk in English without feeling afraid of making mistakes.:) 

★３回目の参加ですけど、毎回車の中で反省会してるんです(笑)で、帰った後のお風呂の中でもずっとサークルの話題が出ます。今回お友達が来てくれたのもあって、娘の表情がいつもよりもリラックスしてたのが印象的で、今までの経験値+リラックスできた分のおかげで、だいぶ聞き取れるようになってきた！というのを本人が実感してるのが良かったです。I want to throw tomatoes at ○○ with my best. が一番気に入ったそうで、一生懸命唱えてましたよ(笑) 私も、もうちょっと色んな言い回しと単語を覚えようと思います(^^;

★We joined "gardeN" three times including this time and every time, we hold review time on our way to go home by car. Also in a bath, we can't stop talking about "gardeN". In the 4th "gardeN", because my daughter's friend could join, she looked more relaxed than usual and I was glad she could feel her own improvement in listening. She had a liking to the sentence, "I want to throw tomatoes at ○○ with my best." and she repeated it again and again. I want to memorize more words and phrases in order not to lose to my daughter!!

☆ガーデンでは知らないことも学べました。それにゲーム感覚で楽しく覚えられたし、英語があまり出来なくても出来たのでまた参加したいです。

☆In "gardeN", I could learn what I hadn't known as if it were a game and even though I am not good at English, I could feel fun. So I wanna join again.

★何十年ぶりに英語を耳にしました。もちろんまともに話す事も出来ませんでしが、そんな事はどうでもいい！話せなければ日本語でもいい！って言葉に変なプレッシャーから解放され、楽しく皆さんと英語＋日本語でトークすることができ、素直にまた来たいなと思えました。今からこの年齢で学校のようなＡ、Ｂ、Ｃも良いかもしれませんが、耳から英語を聞き、感じとって英語を身近に取り入れてくってのも新鮮で楽しい学習方法かも🎵そして、今回は全く出来なかった英会話で皆と一緒に笑いたい！ってのが今後の目標かな（笑）

★It was for the first time in several decades to hear English. Of course I couldn't speak rightly, but I became free from pressure because of some advice like "It doesn't matter if you can speak right English or not." and I could enjoy talking with everyone with English and Japanese. So I can say from my heart that I want to come again. This way to learn English, I mean listen to, feel and use English may be fresh and enjoyable way for me instead of starting with "A, B, C..". I set my goal to laugh with everyone in English conversation!

☆今回が初めての参加でしたが、英語に楽しく触れられたのでとても良い体験になりました。受験生にとってもためになる内容だったので、クラスの人にも声をかけたいと思いました。

☆It was my first time to join "gardeN" but I could enjoy talking in and listening to English and had great experience. Because I think it was very beneficial for students preparing for an exam, so I wanna talk to my classmate about "gardeN".

171127_どの写真が好き？！（第3回レポート）_Which picture do you like??（about the 3rd gardeN）

Hello everyone! I'm Daiki from "gardeN"!
Today, I'm gonna write about 3rd "gardeN" held on 27th of November.

Here we GOOOOO!!

We could hold "gardeN" with newcomers as same as 2nd one.

First of all, we did "Posing Game" as an ice break.
Participants walk around the room and stop when someone says "Stop!" and walk around again. It's so simple, isn't it?^^

But.. there is a next step.
That is.. when someone says "Stop", they have to imitate something they want.
For example, a tree, a monkey, a cat, a bear... anything is OK!
In this step, they have to think what they want to express by their own body during walking and have to express with their best. It was so interesting because they expressed uniquely!!

Again... there is the final step!
Finally, we did a game in which someone tries to guess what other people try to imitate with using "I think you are ○○, who are you?" "I'm ○○".

"I think you are karate woman!! Who are you?"
"I am...... Anpanman!!Lol"

There were such funny communication like this in English!

After warming up through posing game, we did self-introduction and after it, we did an activity named "Which picture do you like??" as same as today's title.

やっぱり車座が一番！/Sitting in a circle is the Best!

It is an activity in which they choose only two pics from very beautiful 16 pics and try to tell why they like them in English.

Seven participants respectively considered their favorite two and tried to tell in English.
Their choice was totally different from each other or even though the choice was same, their reason was not same, so we could enjoy speaking and listening in this activity.

In this activity, we tried to use these new expressions.

"It reminds me ○○."
"It looks like ○○."

The more ways we have to tell what we want to tell, the more enjoyable our communication will be, won't it?!

どうもーー！こんにちはっ！

英語サークルgardeNのDaikiです！

今回は、11/27に開催した第3回の内容をブログに書きたいと思います!!ひゅーぅいごー！

今回も前回同様新メンバーを迎えて楽しく開催することができました！

まずやったのは、ポージングゲーム。

部屋中を歩き回り、「ストップ」という声が掛かったら止まる。そしてまた歩く。

最初はそれだけの単純なゲームです。ただ、それでは終わりません…

次は、「ストップ」と言われたら何かの真似をして止まります。

歩いている間に自分が体で表現したいものを考え、「ストップ」とともにそれを表現する。皆、迷いながらもそれぞれのポーズで止まっていて面白かったです（笑）

しかーし！このゲームはまだまだ終わりません…

最後には、誰かが真似してるものを当てるゲームをやりました！ 

「ストップ」で止まった誰かが全身で表現しているものを英語を使って当てる。

「Youは空手家だー！」（ドヤ顔）

「いや、アンパンマンでした～～！」

なんていうコミュニケ―ションが生まれました（笑）

ポージングゲームで心と体を温めたあとは自己紹介をして、その後、タイトルにもなっている「どの写真が好き？！」という活動をやりました。

16枚のちょービューティフルな写真から2枚だけ自分の好きな写真を選び、その理由を英語で喋ってみるという活動です。

7人それぞれが自分の経験や好みからお気に入りの写真を真剣に考えそれを発表してみる。

みんな選んだものが違ったし、理由も様々で話すのも聞くのも楽しい活動でした！

ちなみに、英語表現としては、

「これ見たら○○を思い出すんだよねー！」とか

「これ私にとってはこんな風に見える！」とか

そんな表現をみんなで使ってみました＾＾

こういう表現の仕方が増えるとコミュニケーションがもっと楽しくなりますしね!!

皆さんも是非、どの写真が好みか、そしてなんで好きなのか考えてみてください！

新たな発見があるかも(*'▽')

★「今」英語を話せるか話せないかではなくって、「これから」話せるようになりたいという気持ちを大切にしてくれる場でしたー！！英語全然話せなくっても居心地がよかった。ほんの少しの勇気と愛が大切なのかな。「Courage」と「Love」重要。言語も年齢もカオスだったけれど、その中に楽しさがあるなあと感じた90分でしたー！！

★It was a nice community for me because they think the importance is not our current ability to speak English but our enthusiasm to talk in English! I could feel comfortable even though I am not good at speaking English. I think the important things to talk in English is "Courage" and "Love". Various age, Various level, English and a little bit Japanese in 3rd "gardeN", but I could have great 90 minutes!! 

☆上手に正しい英語を使うことよりも、まず相手に伝えることをスタートにしてくれている感じがあって、「これが言いたい！」から始められるのが素敵だなあと思いました。ある文法や単語を使わなきゃって思って使うより、「こう言いたい」とか「こう質問したい」に対して「こう言うとちゃんと伝わるよ」とか「この表現がピッタリ！」ってことをアシストしてくれるので、言いたいことがちゃんと言えるようになれて嬉しい◎わたしははじめましての人ばかりだったけど、英語のコミュニケーションのおかげで壁なく色んな人とわいわい話ができて楽しかったです！！

☆I think everyone in "gardeN" took it important to try to tell what we want to tell more than to use right English fluently and I felt good. I was glad because they helped me to tell what I wanted to tell in English like "If you want to say so, you can use this expression!" or "this is the best way to tell what you think!":) I know few people at first, but thanks to a chance to communication in English, I could enjoy talking with participants in English without feeling border!! 

★色々なレベルの人がいても、みんなそれぞれ「英語で話す」をチャレンジしているのが良いなぁと思います。話をする人にしっかり注目したり、聞き手に頑張って伝えようとする、コミュニケーションの基本的な部分をおさらいできるような感じが良いです。

★I think it's good that everyone tried to tell what they wanted to say in English even though their levels for speaking English were different. I think basic and important part of communication is to pay attention to a speaker and try hard to "tell" with their best, and in "gardeN", we could do these. It's pretty good.

☆とても楽しかったし、頭を使いました！（笑）最後の感想のところでお話ししたとおり、私は知らない人達と話をするのが得意ではなくて、自ら進んでそういう集まりに出たことはほぼありません。仕事なら別ですが。でも、そんな私でも、英語をしゃべろう！ということを頑張ろうとすると、知らない方とでもいろんな人と話ができた気がしました。聞き逃したら意味がわからないと思うからか、日本語で会話をする以上に熱心に人の話を聞いた気がします。自分の話も、間違った英語を使っても、日本語を使ってしまっても、皆さん「わかる！」とかって同意してくれたり、うなづいて聞いてくれていたと思います。とてもいい集まりだと思います。引き続き参加させていただこうと思います。

☆I could enjoy this time and fully used my brain lol. As I said at last, I'm not good at talking with people who I don't know, and I've hardly been to such a community by myself except as a work. However I think I could talk with various people even though they were strangers for me at first when I tried to speak English. And I think I payed attention to speakers more than usual because I didn't want to miss what they said. Even though I made mistakes in speaking English and used Japanese instead of English, everyone listened to me carefully and agreed. It was very comfortable for me. I wanna join "gardeN" again.

171120_多種多様な第2回！_Many kinds of great people enjoyed the 2nd "gardeN" !!

English below (英語版は下です！挑戦してみてください＾＾）

今回は、湯本公民館での第2回gardeNの様子をお届けします！

な、な、なんと！！！
雪で足元が悪い中12名もの方が参加してくれました！
初回は2名だったので、奇跡的な増え方ですねっ！感謝！

人が多けりゃいいってもんでもないですが、多様な人（小学生も高校生も様々なとこで働く大人もネイティブも！）が集まったことによっていろんな話題が出たし、カオスで賑やかだったので個人的にはめちゃくちゃ楽しかったです！

人数が多くレベルもそれぞれだったので、今回は以下の2チームに分かれて活動を行いました！

その名も、

「アナ」チームそして、「エルサ」チーム！！！

ええ、埼玉育ちの僕にはとんでもなく大雪だったので、この名前を選びました（笑）
ちょっと古い？（笑）
（西和賀民には、こんなの序の口だと笑われます。。。ツライ。。）

滅多にないからはしゃぎます。/Like a first penguin...
※活動には関係ありません（笑）

さて、気になる活動内容は？？？


まずはアナ！アナでは日本語を交えながら、、
「私のお気入りは、、」という活動をしました。

その名の通り、自分のお気に入りを英語で伝えてみる活動です＾＾

・お気に入りの果物はブドウ！美味しいから！
・お気に入りの季節は夏！花火を観られるからです！
・お気に入りの自然は西和賀！西和賀の自然はお洒落でしょ！？
・お気に入りの色は白！雪が好きなんです！

なんていう話が出ました！理由まで聞くといろんな答えが出て面白かったです！


お次はエルサっ！エルサチームはオールイングリッシュで、
「お題についてひたすらフリートーク」をやりました！

・西和賀と盛岡どっちが好き？
・修学旅行について教えて！
・学校について教えて！

などなどなどなど。上記のテーマをひとつずつ深堀りしながらもちろん英語でフリートーク。時間になっても話が続くくらい盛り上がってました＾＾

自分のレベルに合わせてどちらかを選んでの活動でしたが、どちらも自分の考えを伝えることを大切に時間を過ごしました。

せっかく多く人に来てもらったので、ここからは何人かの感想を載せたいと思います＾＾


★久しぶりに英語を使ったので全然話せなくて自分でもビックリしました笑。これからたくさん表現を増やしてコミュニケーションを取れるといいなーと思います！♥

★言葉は使わないとどんどん忘れてしまうものだなぁとつくづく実感しています。とはいえ、日常の中で脳と口の筋肉を英語モードにして誰かと話をする機会はなかなかなく。レベルはそれぞれでも「みんなが英語を使って話をしようとしている場所」ができたことがすごく嬉しいです(*´ω｀*)大人も子供も学生も社会人も同じ立場で居るから、どんなアイディアが出てくるかわからない楽しさもありました。

★めっちゃ楽しかったから来週も行きたい♪

★コンプレックスなくらい英語に苦手意識があったんですけど、後半はそれを意識しないくらいに楽しくできました。また次も楽しみにしています～！

★西和賀に住んでいる人ならではの会話が英語でできてとても新鮮で楽しかったです！

★皆と楽しく話すことができたし、このような機会は今までになかったのでとても新鮮でした！次回からもっとたくさんの人と話してみたい！


来週は27日（月）1830~2000、湯本公民館です！

We are gonna tell about the 2nd "gardeN" at Yumoto community center!

Super surprisingly, we had as many as twelve people in "gardeN" though heavy snow made it difficult to come! There were only two members in the 1st "gardeN", so it was like a miracle!

It is not nessesary to have many people in "gardeN", but thanks to many kinds of people (an elementary school student, high school students, various workers, a native speaker)coming, we could have lots of points of view and it was lively, so I could spend pretty great time!!

As there were many people and their levels of speaking English were different, we had prepared two teams for 2nd "gardeN".

Names for the two teams were "Ana" aaaandd "Elsa"!!

Because I'd lived in Saitama since I was born and I came here in Nishiwaga just in this April, I felt this snow was so much heavy and I chose these names. Is it a little bit old?? Lol
(For people in Nishiwaga, this snow is like a baby... I'm really scared...)


Anyway, what we did in 2nd "gardeN" was...


Members of "Ana" did an activity named "my favorite ○○ is..." with using both English and Japanese.

Same as name, it is an activity in which they try to tell their favorite things with some reasons, like these↓

・My favorite fruit is a grape because it is delicious.
・My favorite season is summer because I can enjoy watching fireworks.
・My favorite nature is Nishiwaga because I think it is fashionable!
・My favorite color is white because I like snow.

Because there were various choices and reasons, it was interesting!

Next..
Elsa members did "freely talk about some topics picked up" in all English! 

・Which do you like better Nishiwaga or Morioka?
・Please tell us about your school trip!
・Please tell us about your school life!

and so on. They talked freely in all English about these topics. They enjoyed talking even after the time was up!

There were two types of team but the important thing was same. It was "to tell what you think/want to tell" and everyone could enjoy talking while keeping it in our mind.

That's all for report for 2nd "gardeN" and from here we will introduce some impressions of members. Please check them out!


★As I had not spoken English for a long time, I couldn't speak at all at first. I hope I can communicate with others in English with a lot of expressions!♥

★I often realize there is a large possibility to forget how to speak English if I don't use in daily life. However there is few chances here in Nishiwaga to talk with someone in English and no chance to switch my brain from Japanese mode to English one. So I'm very glad to have "gardeN" in which everyone tries hard to talk in English no matter how high or low their levels are. I think it is a good point of "gardeN" that we have various members from children to adults, from students to workers, men and women and all of them are in same position and tahnks to this, there were much more kinds of ideas and thoughts than I'd expected.

★I enjoyed so much today and I wanna join next week again♪

★I'd thought that I'd been totally bad at English but in the last half, I could enjoy without feeling nervous for English. I'm now really looking forward to next "gardeN"!

★It was a pretty new experience for me to talk in English with various people living in Nishiwaga. It was fun!

★I could enjoy talk with members! Such an experience was super fresh for me and I wanna talk with much more people next time!

We think we can change what and how we do depending on a number of people and their situation about English!

遂に、英語サークルgardeNの初回を開催することができました！

たったひとつのルール
「失敗にビビらず、英語で話すことを楽しむ」

を念頭に置き、１時間ちょっとの間、英語を使い倒しました。

今回やったのは、主に２つのアクティビティ。

１つ目は「私は誰（何）でしょう？」というゲーム。単語が書かれたカードを一枚引いて、それになりきって話し、他の人が単語を推測する、という単純なゲームです。

「俺は森に棲んでるよ。」
「俺はよく鮭を食べるよ。」

「俺は空高くにいるよ。」
「俺はいつも輝いている。」

「俺は沢内にはいないけど、湯田にはいる。」

といったユニークな「なりきり」が生まれました。
答えは何だか分かりますか？？＾＾

２つ目は「自分のお気に入りって？」という活動でした！８つのマスに自分の好きなモノやコトを書いて、「なんで好きなのか」を伝える活動です。

俺は何が好きなんだろ/Thinking "what I really like"

お気に入りを書き出して説明/the sheet of my favorite

英語を学ぶのはもちろん大事。でも、英語を使って何を伝えるかの方が大事。そのためには、自分を知ることが大事。そして、自分を知るシンプルな手段は、自分は何が好きかを認識することだ。

という思いがあって、この活動を取り入れました。

この活動では、「言いたいけど、英語だと表現できないっ！」という場面がちらほら。
くり返しやることで、徐々に自分を表現する言葉が増えていくといいなと思います＾＾


初回はこんな感じでした！
次回も、皆でチャレンジを楽しむ精神を忘れずに、エンジョイできたらいいなー！

英語を話すことにチャレンジしたい方、参加待ってます！

Finally, we could hold the first "gardeN"!!

The only rule of "gardeN" is
"Don't be afraid of making mistakes. Just enjoy talking in English!!"

We kept the only rule in our mind and talked in English a lot for about an hour.

This time, we did two activities.

The first activity, called "Who am I?", is a simple activity which one person draws a word card and tries to be it and others guess the word picked up.

For example...

"I live in forest."
"I often eat a salmon."

"I'm in high above the sky."
"I'm usually shining."

"I'm not in Sawauchi, but I'm in Yuda."

Can you guess what??^^
If you want to know answers of them, please wirte comments ^^

The second one is "What I like is...".
It's also a simple activity in which members write down 8 favorite things in 8 blanks and tell them with a sinple reason to audience.

Of course, to learn English is very important, but it is much more important for English learners to think what they want to tell. In order to think what they want to tell, to understand themselves is important. And a simple way to understand themselves is to recognize what they really like.

From this point of view, I wanted to do this activity.

In this activity, everyone felt that "I can't express what I really want to tell in English...".
I hope they can get more words and phrases which express themselves by practicing again and again.

That's almost of all about the first "gardeN".
I also want to enjoy next time with the "gardeN" spirit, "Enjoy talking in English"!

And..
I always welcome a person who want to try to talk in English!
